Many people have lived with a gap (diastema) between their teeth for a long time. There are a variety of reasons why people don’t address concerns they may have regarding these spaces. One of the more common concerns we hear is that people don’t want to “cut their teeth down to pegs” for crowns or veneers. While this fear is somewhat misplaced, the reality is that while crowns and veneers are excellent options for many situations, there is a far more conservative and equally beautiful option: composite “bonding.” The challenge, however, is that while bonding would seem to be a simpler option, it is, in fact, one of the more technically demanding and challenging skills for a dentist to master. There are a myriad of bonding systems available and a variety of techniques possible for any given situation. It takes years of practice and the skills of a true artist to deliver cosmetically exceptional bonding. These complex skills are what differentiate a true cosmetic dentist from other practitioners. Tina’s case exemplifies the results that we are able to deliver as a consequence of our extensive training and experience. Results such as Tina’s are possible when one selects the right cosmetic dentist!
